By Section XIV the Scale of Stamp Duties may be varied by Resolution of the Legislative Council, and by Section XV the Salary Remuneration of the Sheriff and of any Deputy Sheriff will be fixed by the Governor in Council. This Ordinance which is to come into force on the 1st of March next will, I believe, work very well and prove of great practical utility.
